Re: QRP Transceiver Comparison

I have seven QRP radios including a KX3,Tr35,40 meter QCX, 20 meter QCX mini, CR Kits HT-1,Four States QRP 40 meter Hilltopper and a Four States QRP 20meter Hilltopper. They were all, except the KX3,built from kits and were fun to build and operate and I have used most of them on POTA activations Of...

Re: Testing new gear in the field.

Hi Ray, Lucky you! I'd love to find a package like that with all that great gear. I can't really comment on the Alex Loop as I have no experience with loops, but that bandwidth on 40 meters is really narrow. I generally use EFHW's or a Wolf River coil vertical on my activations. The bands haven't be...

Re: Storage container advice for TR-35

Hi John, This is a correction on my previous post about the Apache 550 case. The reason the lid slightly presses on the Tune button is because I attached two folding keyboard legs on the back of the TR35. This makes it about 1/4" higher when laid on it's back. Without the legs it will fit well ...

Re: Storage container advice for TR-35

Hi John, I got an Apache 550 case from Harbor Freight for I think $16. The Tr35 fits well in it, with the only problem being that when the lid is closed it depresses the Tune knob very slightly . It has a removeable rubber tray in the bottom so I am going to cut that out to the dimensions of the Tr3...

Re: TR-35 group/forum

Hi Brian, Thanks for the reply about the feet for the TR35. I looked on Amazon before and didn't see them. I will watch that video and look again. It's a great little radio and I'm anxious to get out and do a POTA activation with it. I am going to rig it up with my QRPWerx SideKar Extreme for loggin...

Re: TR-35 group/forum

Hi, I recently built a TR35 and have only used it in my shack so far. I do POTA activations, but it's been so hot down here I haven't taken it out so far, but an anxious to do so. I watched a Youtube video by John AE5X doing an activation with the TR35, and he had some small folding feet on the back...
