Key for mobile CW?
Looking for suggestions for a paddle key that can be strapped to my leg for short activations when mobile (parked up). Current use of a handheld paddle is OK, but I would prefer something "fixed"
Grateful for any/all suggestions.

Re: New ham interested in CW
Getting back to learning morse, I would actively consider signing up for the CW Academy with CWOps. I recommend this because having returned enthusiastically to morse after a gap of 27 years of use, I found the structured and fixed course format of CWA worked better for me than LICW (I'm a member of...

Re: KX1 ‘Wristmitter’
Hi Paul, What was your antenna set up? Love my KX1, such a versatile little radio and part of my KX1 (SOTA), KX2 (POTA) and KX3 (base station) "collection". Note your mod to the KXPD1 - always struggled with mine as an iambic key, it never seems to function well, yet all external keys work...

QRP Mobile Set-up
After a long drive today for work, I mused about the best mobile set-up for use whilst driving (not parked). I'd welcome thoughts on what kit you guys are using for both SSB and CW - though the latter would not be legal whilst driving here in the UK! In years gone by I've used my 817 and latterly my...

Re: CW Morse SP4 paddle
Many thanks for the initial report; I ordered too and am waiting for mine to arrive in the UK. I've also got a small collection of keys ranging from Palm Mini, Palm Pico, TeneKe, CWMorse.us through to a Begalli Traveller. These are all assigned to specific rigs. Looking forward to the SP4, this soun...

Re: TR-45L
Interesting discussion; two points to add. 1. I've checked and the meter does monitor external battery power. 2. I find the tilt of the radio does impact on the viewing angle of the screen, but this is naturally dependent upon table/operating layout. It would be very easy to place larger feet at the...
