YouKits HB-1A

Post by K9DRP »

I received a YouKits HB-1A today I picked up on eBay. Hooked it up to an EFHW at home this afternoon and worked a dozen or so POTA stations. What an amazingly capable radio considering it's 2009 vintage. A cheap way to enjoy QRP.

I agree. I have one that was purchased from Ten Tec at a Hamfest years ago. Pretty much a shack in the box with resonant antennas. It even has CQ message memory but not changeable for Pota CQ messages. My internal battery still going strong. I put a different band in memory channels for fast switching to other bands. Incremental tuning is a great feature too. Mine is a keeper so far.

I have the HB-1B and pulled it out last night to use while waiting on another QRP rig to arrive. The B model has a knob for the IF adjustment so the selectivity variable. I like that it shows the voltage all the time on the screen.
