ATU-10

Post by wg4z »

Anybody had good experience with the ATU-10? I just got one and really like it to go along with my new TR-35. Everything fits into a lunchbox size case. It provides both Power out and SWR on the display.

My experience with various antennas has been pretty good. The one antenna that it doesn’t match well with is a 40 meter doublet It doesn’t give a good match on 20 meters. However it works well with CHA MPAS Lite, EFHW and random wire antennas. I have an LDG Z100Plus that will tune the doublet on 20 meters just fine where the ATU-10 does not.

Any experiences that you would like to share on the ATU-10 tuner?

I took the ATU-10 to field day and it matched well with a tri-band beam and a G5RV antenna. Worked well in the contest.

Decided to return the ATU-10 when it would not match my 28.5’ speaker wire antenna. Didn’t seem to work on any band on the TR-35. It would never match my 40m doublet on 20m. I just don’t think it is a broadband tuner like exists on the LDG and Elecraft tuners. I really liked it’s features such as the display, size, and BNC connections. I did find that sometimes powering down the tuner(long press of the Tune button) and powering it back up helped but not a very reliable technique most of the time.

well. before returning it you could try contacting the designer/author of the project

consider that some of the models sold through banggood, aliexpress and then some aren't exactly well realized, plus the firmware may need updating

I have an ATU-10 on order from newdiytech.com. I Love my T1 but am curious about the metering function of the ATU-10 and of course I will have to make a protection cover similar to the one I make for the T1. https://qrper.com/2022/06/the-elecraft- ... y-tuftein/

Joshua, the display is great and very clear. See my previous comments as to why I returned it. I would love to have a T1.

I was a bit disappointed but I will hang on to the ATU-10 in hopes of a fix. I have reached out to the vendor as well. They asked for a video of the operation. I sent this to them https://youtu.be/ULvbspwxufA
