DIY & Recycled radio projects

Does anyone have ideas or hacks for radio projects and accessories. I hate throwing good stuff away if I can figure out a use for it.
My grandson was visiting and asked me, "Why is it called a key? It sure dont look like any key to me."
So I took a key from his play keyring and one of his candy containers to build this.
He says it looks like a key now!
