Digital for G90?
Having heard lots of positive reviews, I just picked up a G90. I run mostly CW, but would like to be able to work a little digital. Anyone have a recommendation for a modem with this rig? Signal Link, Digirig, etc. I'm reading that the hookup is a little more involved than with other rigs. 73, Don, ...

Re: Another new to me rig: Mission RGO One
I took my RGO One to our Field Day operation again this year. I mostly worked CW with it. Another OP was working FT-8, and just couldn't help himself in cranking his rig up to 100 watts of power out. It was the 7300 OPs that had to give up on making contacts on both the same and differing bands whil...

TR-35 band switching fail
Got my TR-35 out last night to check it out for an expected POTA activation this weekend, and found that the band switch would not change bands. It was stuck on 20 meters. Opened it up and visually checked the solder connections on the band switch. They looked fine but I reheated them and added a li...

Re: EFHW
I almost always use a tuner with my EFHWs and the TR-35, but not because I'm concerned about SWR. My little rig will put out 8 watts or more at full power with 13.8 volts. I run a lot of QRP events and 8 watts ain't QRP. I want all of 5 watts out, and the tuner keeps me good to QRP standards. I use ...

Re: TR-45L
I've had my TR-45 less than a week now, but have worked many POTA stations. And I want to say, before I offer criticism, that it's an operationally FB rig. I also ordered the bare bones version. If an OP wanted to add the tuner and battery options they'd have a great all-in-one setup. But since I ha...

Re: questions about bioenno batteries
Bob,
You got good answers here. The only thing I would add is that you could buy bigger or more batteries to power your SW-3B for a -very- long time, and still spend a lot less than going the solar route. Or course, that might not be as much fun.

Re: Arborist Throw Lines
I'm ready to try my throw line. (I've successfully used a pneumatic launcher for years.) I picked up a "Kutir" kit that is very similar to Thomas' Compact Weaver Throw Bag. Do I take the line out of the bag to deploy, or will it feed OK out of the compact bag?

YouKits HB-1A
I received a YouKits HB-1A today I picked up on eBay. Hooked it up to an EFHW at home this afternoon and worked a dozen or so POTA stations. What an amazingly capable radio considering it's 2009 vintage. A cheap way to enjoy QRP.
