I rarely use mine, but love it when I do. Think of it as a classic car, to be loved cherished and taken out for a drive when the conditions are right!

Re: TR-35 Fun
Brian,
I couldn't agree more! The TR-35 and TR-45 are some of the favourites in my QRP stable, great fun to use and a refreshing change from all the menu driven radios. For those who have never used or owned one, you are missing out!

Mobile Mounting a Yaesu FT818?
I wonder whether any one has seen or knows of a suitable mobile mount for a Yaesu FT-818/817? My use case is around a robust mount to allow use whilst mobile, but also allow for removal for field use or when the car is parked. Here's the additional challenge.... the car is a lease vehicle primarily ...

Re: Looking for the possibly impossibe
Given your "use case" and lack of availability of the KX2, I would suggest any of the following: Xiegu X5105, Xiegu X6100 or the venerable Ft817/818. They would all give you both SSB and CW. I own a KX2, X5105 and '817 (amongst others). The KX2 is awesome, the receiver is amazing, but give...

Re: Selling FT891 to fund a ???
Concur with all, the SW-3B is a great little radio for the money - mine is kept is my car along with a key and battery, antenna etc in a small pack for opportune activation or activity. You can't go wrong for the money. The TR-35 is another excellent choice as Thomas has pointed out. Very light and ...

Re: Another new to me rig: Mission RGO One
For years I used an old Ten-Tec Century 21, even taking it with me to the Falkland Islands (as VP8CZI). I can't help but feel that the RGO is domewhat reminiscent of the Ten-Tec rigs, albeit with a "top notch" design, none of the drift and a narrow, selective and sensitive front end of som...

Re: Reverse Beacon Client App
Not sure about an app, but on Android I just access the RBN Web page - works for me. I've created a link on my "homescreen", so all you need to do is tap it and you are there.

Re: Is ZM-4 still available?
The Kanga products Tranzmatch is highly recommended; I have two, one of each style for the shack and field use respectively.
