Maybe connect the dummy load to the output of the unun and try again? It won't have a 1:1 match, but you'd see if the SWR remains constant over the range.
How does the unun do with an actual wire attached? And did you find a capacitor or not?

Re: In Search of AZ SQRPions
Mark,
The website is still at https://azscqrpions.org/ but it looks like they're not producing any kits these days.
Hope this helps.

Which toroid for 4:1 unun?
I am looking to build (yet another) 4:1 unun for a Rybakov antenna. Looking online, I see about half of the articles recommend a TX-2 toroid, and half recommend a TX-43. I would think that the TX-2 toroid wouldn't be great for the hgher bands - if a powdered toroid were needed I would have expected ...

Re: k6ark efhw capacitor
Geoff,
My understanding is that the capacitor helps on the higher bands (15/12/10m) but is not necessary for the lower bands. I usually use a 100pf cap in my builds, but I've never really tested its importance.

Re: 29.5 ft EFRW for QRP
Brian,
My home antenna is a 35.5/17 EFRW. It works pretty well on all bands, but tuning for 40m is very touchy. I'm thinking of going with a 33 or 35.5 foot counterpoise.

Re: Hello From NJ
Doug,
POTA Is a great way to develop CW skills. The exchange is simple and there are a lot of stations to work - and they are very forgiving of newer/slower stations. Also, I need to work a park in NJ!

Re: 13 Colonies
I got all 13 QRP two years ago. I started out on FT8 but needed CW to get the last couple of states/colonies.

Joshua,
I like your setup! Did you print the piece that holds the BNC connector? It looks very useful.

ATS-20+ with ATS20_EX firmware
The ATS-20+ is an SDR receiver that covers from broadcast AM to broadcast FM. The SDR runs on an arduino and the firmware can be modified and updated by the user. I installed ATS-20_EX from https://github.com/goshante/ats20_ats_ex and it's a game changer! The radio went from being a toy for SWL list...

I agree with Richard - I don't use my KX-1 as much as I would like but I always enjoy using it!
