Re: Throw Lines and trees

I have this stuff, and consider it to be pretty slick.

Re: TR-45L Skinny cover

I haven't looked around as I don't have a TR-35, but I had come across this one: https://tufteln.com/products/tr-35-magn ... tive-cover.

Vintage (and famous) QRP rigs for sale

I just came across these while browsing for other stuff. Dan's is a simple, "vintage" site, but it has been updated recently, so it might be worth a call. Scroll to the very bottom of the page & work your way up. I have no affiliation or interest in the sale of these rigs, just passing...

DIY KH1 - sort of

TR-45L Skinny cover

Just wanted to share the cover I designed a while back for my TR-45L Skinny. It's a fairly rugged radio, especially with its side handles, but the knobs & display are always a concern. This snaps on and very robustly covers it all. I have Velcro strap slots, but the handle snaps are pretty firm ...

Re: coax type

And just to spell it out, should anyone later be searching: RG-316. RG-174 is similar as far as loss goes, but the 316 outer sheathing is more durable.

Re: Kite lifted antennas

I used a frac tank for a counterpoise/anchor. I like it! One of the better phrases I learned when I moved to the South was, "Run what ya brung!", i.e. use what's at hand. While I've never used a kite for radio, I've thought about it many times over the years, along with surplus weather ba...
