A drive-on antenna base and a relatively short (5...9ft) fiberglass telescoping mast to keep the whip above the car may fit well

Re: Kite lifted antennas

If the UnUn is DC shorted, like this one http://www.jumaradio.com/The-challenging-Unun-Transformer/ and if the ground goes to a decent ground stake, there shouldn't be need for a bleeder since the antenna would effectively be connected to ground at DC; alternatively one may try a galvanic transforme...

Re: Best beginner CW transceiver kit to start with

4StateQRP is a great source alright. I've built a few of their kits with good results. Check out the transceiver kits at "qrpme.com" they also have ALOT of other useful and quirky fun kits to learn building with. Be prepared to spend some time at the site just looking around. 72 W5GUS Dal...

Re: Counterpoise with TX500

this one looks interesting https://www.gabilradio.com/gra-gnt-antenna-mount can be configured as a tripod or as a stake, has binding posts for radials and may nicely pair with a vertical or a "fishing rod" for portable operations, it is available on amazon https://www.amazon.com/GRA-GNT-Pa...

The perfect POTA/SOTA rig

ok, perfection isn't of this world, but let's just try to play with some imagination, start with an existing or a non existing rig, and add all the features you feel important for a POTA/SOTA activator or for a hunter, come on, let's raise some holidays dust :) P.S. keep real, don't ask for dilythiu...

Re: Portable 10M Yagi ?

Andrew, How would you go about constructing the jungle job? For 28MHz, you'd need about a 16 foot reflector. Do you make it out of aluminum pipe or PVC with wire inside (or outside)? To me, it sounds a lot more difficult than a Moxon with a 3D printed hub - maybe because I've already printed the hu...
