Re: Battery for QRO operations
Nice point and reminder Brian! I hadn't considered that when typing up my previous comment and generally don't give it much thought because of the equipment I have so it's great that you mentioned it. Just as a matter of reference, the battery that I have that I was referring to in my previous post ...

Re: Battery for QRO operations
Congrats on the new radio, that's pretty nice of your wife to get it for you! I have no experience with the battery you linked to, but it looks like a 30Ah LiFePO4 battery, which would likely run that FT-891 for quite some time! You could try it, but I would NOT recommend using a standard car batter...

Re: 9v or 12v for sw-3b
From the SW-3B Manual ( http://venus-itech.com/download/SW-3B%20Manual.pdf ) Operating voltage: 8-15VDC I think you should be fine with a 12V battery. I'm planning to get one of these at some point and I'll probably run it from my Bioenno batteries. The vague recollection you may be having COULD be ...

Re: Reverse Beacon Client App
What is he showing there is on the pota.app website. You can just go to it in your browser and it will look about like that. That site is also used for spotting yourself or others on SSB not just CW but it ties into the RBN to update spots for current activations.

Re: Reverse Beacon Client App
I'll admit that I haven't watched all the videos all the way through, but I'm not sure what type of client app you are referring to. Would you be able to identify a specific point of a specific video where it can be seen to help others assist you? The only thing I can think of that I've seen him use...

Re: TR-35 issues / No response from WA3RNC
If it is consistently and measurably off, I can totally understand the annoyance and would want to get it resolved as well. I will say though, I've been on activations before (with different radios and antennas and not a lot of common variables) and seen the spotted frequency change +/- 100Hz or so ...

Re: Travel to Europe with KX3 questions
This is just my experience, and it wasn't international travel, but I've flown with my KX-2 on 2 separate trips and didn't have any issues or questions from TSA or airlines either time. What I did was have the battery installed inside the radio and did NOT bring along any additional batteries for it...

Re: Wire type & dealer ?
I bought some of this (https://chameleonantenna.com/shop-here/ols/products/xn-cha-250-wire-ptfe-j42j) when I ordered my MPAS Lite and I have used it for a couple different antennas and it's been some pretty good stuff. I also ordered this wire from eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/256102699851) and it...

Re: ABR Industries 23316-BM-25-3ferrite
I just checked and the in-post links seem to be working now. The in-post links that I'm finding with a quick look are to the product page for it on HRO and it shows up as being ~$60 and currently out of stock: https://www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-017956 ABR does have their: Amateur Radio Coax ...

Re: Trapping the EFHW?
Here's a "crazy" idea, use a tape measure as your antenna :D I think that's been done before with some success. I think there was even something about a modified tape measure specifically designed with this in mind. However, and KL7MJ should correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the idea wit...
