Michigan QRP Club Zoom meeting

Post by AB8DF »

Because of the US Thanksgiving Day holiday there will be no chat on Thursday November 28. The weekly chat will continue on December 5. Please join us Thursday (and every Thursday) at 4PM Eastern for the Michigan QRP Club weekly QRP Chat where the main topics will be QRP and other ham interests. New hams are encouraged to participate and ask questions. It's fun, it's easy, and it's free. You only need a computer, a smart phone, or a tablet that can connect to the Internet. OR if you can't be close to any of those you can join by audio with any standard phone. Just follow the directions below. No software needs be loaded or installed. Anyone can join and non members are welcome. Details are here:

Thursdays topic will be an open forum for any questions.

We had 14 folks join us for the chat on November 21. The topic was an open forum for any questions.

Ed is planning to play in the CQ WW DX contest.

Stuart is playing with slow scan TV. He is QRO now and wants to try QRP. He wonders how well QRP will work. Uses MMSSTV, IC7300 and a Dell laptop. His club has a couple of other members playing with slow scan TV. Seems to be from very old technology. He has best luck on 40 meters and has tried 20 meters.

Yvon has done QRP slow scan TV. Uses MMSSTV. He is also trying to get his HL2 working on FT8.

Stan has been downloading stuff from ISS and decoding it offline.

Bill is working on an old Ten Tec with a bad PTO and just got a TS-130S.

Ernie is researching 4:1 ununs for his OCF antenna. Not doing much this week because he is recuperating from a virus.

More discussions on our CW learning and what we are all trying.

Jacob is near Los Vegas and is interested in doing more CW.

The topic for December 5 will be an open forum for any questions. Anyone can take the floor and ask questions. We will go one by one until all have had a chance to have the floor. Files, pictures and presentations can be shared if you have any. There will be time for comments and questions. Please try to stay muted when someone has the floor.

Thanks
Ed
