The QRPer Board

I have it in my head that I want a KX3, but can't justify the cost of a new one. I have seen some come up for sale recently under $1500, which is within my budget. Most of them are 8-10 years old (or more). Assuming that the radio is in good physical condition and fully operational, are there things that I should watch out for with a KX3 that is that old? I looked at the modifications published by Elecraft and none seem like showstoppers. Anything else?

Hi Ron,

I saw your post. I own a older KX3 that I bought used from someone I knew. It has worked very well for me. I did not reply earlier, because I am not knowledgeable enough to answer your question. You might get a faster answer from the folks on Elecraft-KX@groups.io. They have active conversations focused specifically on the Elecraft field rigs and equipment.
