Re: The perfect POTA/SOTA rig
ok, perfection isn't of this world, but let's just try to play with some imagination, start with an existing or a non existing rig, and add all the features you feel important for a POTA/SOTA activator or for a hunter, come on, let's raise some holidays dust :) P.S. keep real, don't ask for dilythi...

Re: 49:1 antenna question
if space is constrained and you are ok with using an ATU, you may consider this linear loaded doublet

which allows to cover all bands from 80m up

Re: 49:1 antenna question
Good morning, Got a question regarding my 49:1 and wire length. Is there a wire length that is shorter than the 67' roughly that I'm currently using for multi band ? Im looking to get a short no tune 40m wire made up. The current 67ish feet im currently using is great but just looking to go short t...

Re: don't underestimate the humble dipole
Voacap is fantastic. I shared the tool with my club a couple months back, was well received. Nice write up on Dipole as well. Thanks for sharing! I agree regarding VOACaP but my post was mainly about the best height for a dipole and it starts at a minimum of 0.6 wave height, a dipole at such height...

Re: Simple beam antenna - the G4ZU "Jungle Job"
if someone here isn't familiar with ERP/EIRP and antenna gain, my suggestion is to try this
https://m0ukd.com/calculators/erp-eirp-calculator/
just enter the output power of your TX and the antenna gain and check the EIRP value, then change the antenna gain and look at its effect

I think one of those, cut for the 80 or 160 meters band may fit pretty well the kite setup
