Re: New QRP Labs Radio - QMX
My timing isn't that great - my QCX-mini kit arrived last week! I'm hoping that Hans makes a high band (20-17-15-12-10) version too. When he presented the QMX at the Four Days in May (FDIM) conference, Hans specifically noted that he expects to put out a high band version of the QMX. He seems to ha...

Re: Why does QRPGuys EFHW use less than a half wave?
Hello all, thanks for allowing me here, this is my first post. I operate a good bit of QRP from Meridian, MS and various POTA locations. I have a question...I recently purchased a QRPGuys EFHW kit and assembled it. When testing with my antenna analyzer, I had to trim the radiator even shorter than ...

Re: Xiegu G106 vs. FX-4L
Wondering if we can wake this thread up again? I see Thomas just posted a POTA activation with the G106 . While his full review is still pending, I get the sense he sees good value in the G106 (when paired with the digital adapter). Meanwhile the FX-4C is out from Yu, with at least a Facebook group...

Re: 9:1 Home Brewing
I used my homebrew 9:1 EFRW with 144 ft wire last night in a POTA park. I was successful in making 3 contacts on 160m, and a 58 other contacts on 30m, 40m, and 80m.

Re: 9:1 Home Brewing
Thanks Andrew. Further details on the antenna build are coming soon, and I will link them here after they are posted. In a sneak peek, I had 3x17 ft ground radials deployed at the feedpoint.

Re: 9:1 Home Brewing
My reason for building this antenna was 2-fold. First, I wanted to prove out the QRP-level 9:1 unun design. I am satisfied with its performance. Second, I wanted to assemble a field antenna that would let me use the 160m band. By pairing the antenna with a wide-range tuner (in this case an LDG Z-11P...

Re: 9:1 Home Brewing
Thanks all! I am going to build a QRP 9:1 using tri-filar winding, and no capacitor. I'm not yet sure about radiator length. All I'm lacking now is a bit of shop time. When I get things together, I will let you know how it works. Best 73 de Brian - K3ES I finished my build this month, and used the ...

Re: TR-35 group/forum
When I power up my TR35 on 20 meters it always starts on 14.262 in the phone portion of the band. The other three bands always start at the bottom of the CW portion of the band. It's not a big deal, but I was wondering if that is the nature of the beast or if there is a fix, maybe a firmware upgrad...

Re: Linked End Fed Halfwave Antenna
Question. What type of connector do you use for linking this antenna? I just built a copy of the K6AEK 49:1 and 9:1 Unun. Very small to use, I just want to add a quick connection to the output of the Unun to try different length wire elements. TU in advance and 73, Jeff K9JP Hi Jeff, First, whateve...
