For those unaware, Thomas - K4SWL has been posting updates to QRPer.com from his home in western North Carolina, where overwhelming rainfall from Hurricane Helene produced devastating floods. His updates chronicle preparedness, survival, community cooperation for recovery, and the importance of amateur radio in getting messages through when all other communication infrastructure is off line.

Thomas's posts are definitely worth a read, and will make you think differently about preparing for emergencies in your area.
