GE, Dave.

You mention you're looking for a portable antenna for SOTA. What antenna supports (trees or other) are typically available on the summits you frequent? What bands do you want to operate? Are you wanting to buy something ready made or build your own? Do you also want to do other portable operations (POTA, casual operating, etc.)? The answers to those will help narrow down your options. Most of us accumulate a variety of antennas for different situations, but you might as well start with one that is multi-use.
