Is there anyone who uses an RGO ONE besides K4SWL?
Is there anyone who uses an RGO ONE besides K4SWL?
Tom suggested I ask my rig questions here so I thought I would ask if there are any RGO ONE users on this forum? If so, would you share your honest feelings about the RGO ONE and tell me how you use it and which series you own?
Re: Is there anyone who uses an RGO ONE besides K4SWL?
Interested, as having read all the positive reviews online, I've just ordered one, the latest 5+ run. Looking forward to receiving it in about 3 weeks and will happily post comments after a thorough work up.
In all my research, I only found one really negative review and that felt more that the radio was not the individual's "cup of tea".

On it's way (according to Fedex). Hopefully here next week, so will post my initial thoughts....

Quick update. RGO-One received a couple of days ago and now in use for a day. A thing of beauty and wow, what a receiver, very low noise floor, signals jump out at you. Keying is very nice too. Only two short CW QSOs and one rare (for me) SSB QSO to check all is good. ATU is excellent, as is filtering. Everything about this radio is about operating - no setting is more than a single button or knob away, no buried menus at all. This really allows you to focus on what you are hearing and responding to. I find not having a waterfall a boon, no visual distraction; however, if that's your thing, there is an IQ port!
For those familiar with the Elecraft K2, this radio is just slightly smaller and much easier to access functionality (I have two K2s to compare it with).
Will provide a further update in the weeks ahead, but this is an impressive radio whether used QRP or up to the 55W it is capable of. I now understand why K4SWL is such a fan of this radio, as corroborated by all the positive reports on eHam. Yes, for the same money you could pick up an IC-7300 or FT-710AESS, but, for me, this is a winner.

Yep. I have the 5th series RGO One. Great little rig! You’ll enjoy it.
